ABOUT
The Indian Medical Association South East Manipur (IMA SEM) Branch was established on 23rd April 2022, under the initiative and guidelines of IMA Manipur branch. The association was inaugurated on Sunday the 15th May 2022 at IMA hall, Lamphelpat, Imphal west, Manipur, by the Honorable Health Minister of Manipur, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh. It is a voluntary organization of doctors of modern medicine who have at least done their graduation in Allopathic medicine. The members are from the four south eastern districts of Manipur viz. Thoubal, Kakching, Chandel and Tengnoupal, with official head quarter at Kakching. The office of the association is at Jivan Hospital premises, Kakching, Manipur for the time being. The association is one of the many branches of Indian Medical Association (IMA), in different states and functions autonomously but within the framework of the IMA constitution.
IMA was started on 28th December 1928 with the objectives:
- Promotion and advancement of Medical and Allied Sciences in their different branches
- The improvement of public health and Medical Education in India
- The maintenance of and dignity of medical profession.
The aim of the IMA SEM branch is to give better patient care service, welfare of fellow members, better work environment in health centers in these regions particularly and all over the state and country.
